Deaf Inclusion and Auslan Supports

At Atypical Solutions, inclusion isn’t an add-on — it’s embedded into everything we do. We are a Deaf-aware and inclusive service, with Auslan woven throughout all of our programs, environments, and daily interactions.

Our farm and all service settings are designed to be Auslan-accessible, with staff trained to a minimum of Level 2 Auslan, alongside team members who bring advanced fluency. Communication is supported through a combination of Auslan, visual aids, and social stories — creating environments where understanding is strengthened for everyone, not just those who use sign language.

We don’t just support communication — we actively model it. Through everyday interactions, we introduce Auslan naturally across our programs, building confidence, connection, and inclusion for both Deaf and hearing participants.

For individuals with complex communication needs, we provide tailored support to learn and use Auslan as an alternative communication method. We also offer personalised coaching to build Auslan fluency, understanding, and confidence — for participants, families, and support teams.

At our core, we believe everyone deserves to be seen, understood, and included — just as they are.
